Whitelist
- What is the Whitelist?
- The whitelist is a system for automatically filtering out emails from non-existent email
addresses. Most Unsolicited Commercial Email (“spam”) is sent from non-existent
addresses and will be blocked by the whitelist. The whitelist works by requiring the senders
of emails to “confirm” their address is real by replying to a
“challenge” email. See the
Whitelist HowTo for details.
- Can I disable the whitelist feature?
- Whitelisting is not enabled by default and must be activated before you can use it. You can
choose whether to use whitelisting on a per mailbox basis
from the main Mailboxes screen. Please read the
Whitelist HowTo before enabling whitelisting.
- How do I manually add a whitelist entry?
-
- Make sure you are in the Whitelist area of the admin panel.
- Click the button marked New on the right-hand side.
- Fill in the address field with the email address you wish
to whitelist.
- Click OK in the bottom right of the screen. (Or
Activate on the left if you have finished making changes in
the panel)
- Can I view any emails which have been
“caught” by the whitelist system?
- Yes, you can view all queued emails awaiting confirmation, see the
Whitelist HowTo for details
- Can I change the text which people see
when they receive a whitelist “challenge” message?
- Yes, see the Whitelist HowTo for
details
